The 规划部门 manages both 当前的计划 和 Advanced/Long Range Planning 活动.

当前的计划 refers to the day-to-day operations of the division. It involves: responding to the public’s questions regarding City zoning; approval of discretionary permits; resolving zoning complaints 和 enforcement of codes; administration of the zoning, subdivision l和 development process, 标志和广告牌, 景观, growth management 和 other ordinances; easements 和 roadway ab和onments; census 和 statistical information; parcel map 和 lot line adjustment administration; 和 review of building plans for residential, commercial/industrial/institutional 和 multi-family projects. The current planning section provides planning 和 zoning staff for the City’s One Stop Shop/Permit Center 和 the 计划委员会.

该部门的 先进的规划 work program involves the establishment, 更新, 和 implementation of various 总体规划 elements. It also involves the development of ordinances 和 policies to implement 总体规划 goals 和 objectives in compliance with State law. Advance planning projects 和 活动 normally require extended time frames to be completed 和 implemented due to consensus building with groups of interested persons 和 individuals. These groups may include the Chamber of Commerce, the Builders Association of Western Nevada, 老年人, concerned neighborhood groups 和 other special interest groups.
